I know I have had this one up for a long time, however I still believe coaches are trying to do to much with their players. Remember it is a game of hitting, catching and throwing a baseball and it is that simple. If you believe in it and use it as your strategy you will see the W's come your way! One Pitch at a TIME Many coaches and players try to do too many things on the baseball field at a time. Remember "One Pitch at a Time", we can only do one thing at a time when playing baseball. Catch a baseball, field a baseball, hit a baseball, run to a base. So why do players and coaches try to do so many thing during a baseball game? Its a game that most of the time, the play or plan is predetermined. Situational baseball has been around for 100 years. When do we take a pitch? When do we steal a base? How do we set up our defence? Runner on second no outs do we bunt to move him over, late in the game? The game is simple if we coach one pitch at a time! Many great coaches teach this concept because it is easer to coach a game. How many times do you watch a game on TV and you know what the next pitch is going to be? Or what the hitter is going to do to move a runner over. How about where will the left fielder throw the baseball when it is hit to him with a runner on first base? Here is one I do not see a lot of, what about where does the second basemen go to when a ball is hit to third base with no other base runner on? They should back up the first basemen in case of a overthrow. It's a simple game of catching a baseball and throwing a baseball, with a little bit of hitting. So remember "One pitch at a time" Have fun and remember it only a game, until you get paid for it ! |
